KCSO warns meat markets of phone-order scam

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is warning local meat markets and businesses about an ongoing scam targeting meat markets in Kendall County and the San Antonio area. A man who goes by "Brian" calls markets, places large meat orders, pays a deposit over the phone with a credit card, claims to be from Dallas reselling meat from his van, cites the website TheMeatland.com, has the order loaded into his vehicle, and leaves before the business discovers the card is fraudulent or invalid. The number he has reportedly used is (646)-305-6774. KCSO reminds businesses to verify large phone orders and credit-card payments before releasing merchandise, and asks anyone victimized who has surveillance footage, photographs, vehicle information, receipts, or other evidence to call (830)-249-9721.
