Day One of Early Voting Draws 2,165 In-Person Voters in Kendall County

Kendall County posted its first day of early voting numbers for the Nov 3, 2026 joint election, and 2,165 people voted in person on Monday, Oct 19.

The county's daily in-person report lists 2,156 main early voters plus 9 limited-ballot voters, for a 2,165 total. The county calculates that as 5.24 percent turnout so far. The county elections page lists 41,263 registered voters as of October 2026. No provisional ballots were cast on day one.

On the mail-ballot side, the county's by-mail roster shows 1,220 ballots sent to voters, with 545 returned as of Oct 19. Of those, 527 have been accepted, 10 are pending voter action to correct a defect on the carrier envelope, and 5 came back undeliverable. Monday alone added 159 returned mail ballots.

Combined, that is 2,692 ballots counted or banked so far, roughly 6.5 percent of registered voters.

This is the first turnout snapshot of the early voting period, so there is no prior day to compare against yet. The Wire will keep tracking these numbers each day the county posts them.

Early voting continues at the Kendall County Courthouse Annex, 221 Fawn Valley Drive in Boerne. Hours: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday, Oct 23; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct 24; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct 25; and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct 26 through Friday, Oct 30. The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Friday, Oct 23; the application must be received by the county, not just postmarked. Election Day is Nov 3, with polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A reminder on the math: the county's daily tables count voters checked in, and its turnout percentage uses the county's own registered-voter figure. Small rounding differences are normal.
