Split votes on appraisal district nominees at Boerne ISD special meeting
A fourth appraisal district nominee needed two tries to get through the board.
At a special meeting Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the board voted 6-0-1 to nominate Kristi Schmidt, Jim Jeffries, and Rex Sprunger for the appraisal district board of directors, with Schmidt abstaining on the motion naming her. Motion: Sarah Faulkenberry. Second: Carlin Friar.
The board then split on whether to add Saralyn Wolf as a fourth nominee. A first motion, made by Dallas Pipes and seconded by Garrett Wilson, failed 2-3-2: Pipes and Wilson in favor; Courtney Darter-Bruce, Faulkenberry, and Friar opposed; Schmidt and Rich Sena abstaining. After further discussion, Faulkenberry moved the same nomination again, seconded by Sena, and it carried 4-2-1: Faulkenberry, Pipes, Sena, and Wilson in favor; Darter-Bruce and Friar opposed; Schmidt abstaining.
All seven trustees were present. Earlier in the meeting the board proclaimed October 14, 2026 as Texas Education HR Day in Boerne ISD, 7-0, and heard one public comment. The meeting adjourned at about 6:03 p.m.
